1) Do your sheds and cabanas need to be treated or stained?

We recommend that a stain be applied to preserve all exposed wood and siding. All products must be painted or stained within 30 days of purchase in order to validate the warranty. Of course, maintenance-free siding does not require staining and cedar siding, if left unstained, will age to a silvery grey.

2) What is not included in a kit?

Asphalt shingles, stain and a patio stone foundation for the optional floor are not included with pre-cut kits. Please note that some kits do include floors.

4) Do you need a building permit?

Usually a building permit is not required for sheds under 100 sq. feet - but check with your local building codes.

5) Are nails, hardware and instructions included in both your pre-cut and pre-assembled kits?

Yes - even the shingling nails.

6) Is there a warranty?

Yes. All our products carry a two year, hassle-free waranty on all materials and workmanship. Due to the organic nature of wood, small variations such as knots and cracks are not deemed to be defects.

7) What other sidings do you offer?

We offer cedar siding as well as a pre-finished maintenance-free siding. In both cased the windows, flowerboxes and trim are made from cedar.

3) Why are asphalt shingles not included in kits?

Asphalt shingles are readily available at your local building supply store in a wide variety of style and colors. By selecting your own shingles you will have the best opportunity to match the style and color appropriate to your installation.

9) What are the dimensions of a cabana/shed kit?

Most kits are 4 ft wide x 8 ft. long by approximately 2 ft high. The weight is between 500 - 1000 pounds. Please call if you require dimensions for a specific unit.

11) Does the assembly of your sheds and cabanas require any special tools or skills?

We recommend a cordless drill and a 4' level. Our sheds are easily assembled by two people in one or two days. Some models will require cutting of one or two roof boards - in this case a circular saw is required.

12) Can the pool heater go inside the shed?

Yes, all one needs is the pool heater stack and vents. Please keep in mind that most municipalities require pool heaters to be mounted on cement pads.

2) What doesn't the pre-cut kit include?

The pre-cut kit doesn't include the floor and shingles. It DOES include all of the gazebo components that are pre-cut to exacting standards, non-corrosive plated hardware and explicit assembly instructions. The Rosewood gazebo does not require shingles.  

3) What's the difference between a Chelsea and Carolina Gazebo?

There are a variety of differences between these two models. The Carolina gazebo features a larger cupola, hand cut spindled railings and the decorative corner braces that distinguish this elegant design.  The Chelsea gazebo features a smaller cupola and has clean straight lines which blend well with all architectural styles.

4) What is the foundation?

If the grade is fairly flat we suggest that you position 9 patio stones under the corners and in the center. If the grade is greater you may want to use cinder blocks or footings of some sort.

5) What are the gazebos constructed from?

Garden Decor gazebos are constructed entirely from premium grade Canadian western red cedar; every component is engineered to exacting standards, which are further inspected to ensure that it meets our rigid quality control specifications.
